Before You Request

A simple, accurate activity log is one of the most helpful things you can prepare before contacting an investigation team.

Record What Happened

• Date and exact time
• Room or location
• Who was present
• What was seen, heard, felt, or smelled
• Weather, HVAC, appliances, pets, traffic, and other environmental conditions
• Any photographs or recordings in their original form

What Not to Do

Do not place yourself in danger, enter restricted areas, disturb suspected asbestos or structural hazards, or escalate fear through repeated provocation. If there is an immediate safety, medical, mental-health, electrical, gas, or structural concern, contact the appropriate qualified professional first.
